How to use the Compare Apps tool

The Compare Apps tool is designed to help Merchants and Developers quickly compare Shopify apps side by side to make smarter decisions.

You can start a comparison and add apps in three simple ways:

1. Starting a new comparison from the Landing Page

Step 1: On the Compare Apps page, you will see several empty slots. Click the "+" icon in any of the slots.

Step 2: A search bar will appear. Search and select the first Shopify app you want to compare.

Repeat the process to add up to four apps for an initial side-by-side comparison. Click Compare Now to get the results immediately.

Step 3: Once you have selected at least two apps, the comparison results page will be generated automatically. Here, you can instantly analyze differences side-by-side across various tabs, including App info, Ranking, Pricing, and Reviews.

2. Adding more apps to an existing comparison

After your initial comparison is displayed, you can easily expand it by adding more apps. On the comparison results page, click Add competitor button. Search and select the new app you wish to add.

The new app will be added to your current comparison view, allowing you to analyze it alongside the apps you had previously selected.

3. Comparing from an app's detail page

While viewing any individual app's detail page, look for the Compare button located near the app's title.

An App Compare popup will appear. Click the "+" icon to open the Add Competitor window. In the search bar, search and select the competitor app you want to compare against. You can also choose from the list of Recommended apps.

After selecting a competitor, click Add and then See comparison to generate the detailed side-by-side results page.
