# Connect Shopify API

To unlock deeper analytics on your app's performance, you'll need to connect your Shopify Partner account to Letsmetrix.

This process involves three main parts: getting your Partner API, finding the App GID for each of your apps, and then connecting them to our system.

# How to Find Partner ID and API Key

#### Step 1: Open Connect Shopify API window from Letsmetrix

Go to <https://letsmetrix.com/>, and sign in. Click on your account name in the top right corner, and from the dropdown menu, select **My Partners**, and then click **Sync Partner Data** button.<br>

<figure><img src="/files/yNgLEJLchhZfet9xwncu" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This will open the **Add App ID from partner** window. Then, click the "+" button.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/FrOilHUqzKhIV3fsXmFx" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Now the **Connect Shopify API** window is open.

<figure><img src="/files/MJDnRvmNJtIQmqOJI4cR" alt="" width="350"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Get Your Partner ID

You can find your Partner ID using one of two methods:&#x20;

* From the URL: After logging into your [Shopify Partner Dashboard](https://www.shopify.com/partners), your unique 7-digit Partner ID is visible in the URL search bar. For example: <mark style="color:blue;"><https://partners.shopify.com/1234567/></mark>.

<figure><img src="/files/A0Ab4xZGvU1vu0RgBa8P" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* From Settings: Navigate to the **Settings** page in your Partner Dashboard and find it in the **Account information** section.

<figure><img src="/files/sZVX36jMT36XjIH4PgEw" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 3: Get Your API Key

1. From your Partner Dashboard, go to the **Settings** page and find the **Partner API clients** section. Click **Manage Partner API** clients.

<figure><img src="/files/jEShFtz0AE21FP2bs779" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. If you don't have an API client yet, click **Create API client**.

<figure><img src="/files/aE8rmtAUKegSzg7IQuVz" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Grant the following permissions to allow Letsmetrix to sync your data:

* View financials
* Manage apps
* Manage themes

<figure><img src="/files/K6rxY9rSSQLEXpJCY2nv" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click **Save** on the top right corner to create the API client.

3. After the API client is created, you will find the **Access token** in the **Credentials** section. Click the symbol to copy this token, as it will serve as your API key.

<figure><img src="/files/UIRmZV8JBqaSuobNpNmX" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 4: Paste Partner ID and API Key in Letsmetrix&#x20;

Return to the Letsmetrix window you opened in Step 1. Paste the **Partner ID** and **API Key** (Access Token) into the corresponding fields and click **Connect Shopify API**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/2NV61OQTDwOCRGOBNzM9" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

That's it! You can now proceed to sync your individual apps.

# How to find App GID

Each of your apps on Shopify has a unique App GID that Letsmetrix needs to track it.

#### Step 1: Get Your App GID

1. Return to the **Add App ID from partner** window after you have connected Shopify API.
2. From your Partner Dashboard, navigate to the **App distribution** section in the left-hand menu. Click **All apps**. From the list, find and click on the specific app you wish to connect.

<figure><img src="/files/uLk6AEvZhYZHUjR60o25" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. The App GID is the set of numbers immediately following /apps/:

<figure><img src="/files/PeBF9ugiuVRKuKjpZRZ4" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For example, in the URL <mark style="color:blue;"><https://partners.shopify.com/1234567/apps/7891011/overview></mark>, the App GID is 7891011.

#### Step 2: Fill App GID in Lesmetrix

Return to the Letsmetrix window you opened in Step 1 and paste the App GID you found in the previous section. Click **Add**.

<figure><img src="/files/BXcQPLfLD2VgjSm8IWHQ" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After you add the app, the partner data will be synced and appear in your Letsmetrix dashboards.

# Connect GA4

**Step 1**: From the main menu on the left, navigate to the **Data GA** section. You will see a prompt to connect your Google Analytics. Click **Connect GA4** button to begin.

<figure><img src="/files/R4x5xYCqsbNZmEi44F4r" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 2**: You will be prompted to choose an email account to continue with Letsmetrix.

<figure><img src="/files/edyZvdBnGtmEidqEscPo" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For a successful connection, the Google account you are connecting must have at least "Viewer" access to the GA4 property in Google Analytics.

In Google Analytics, go to Admin → Account (or Property) Access Management → Add the Google account email → Choose a standard role (e.g., "Viewer").

<figure><img src="/files/0amlreBS4AAtnF04mpFI" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once connected, your GA4 data will begin to sync with Letsmetrix.

# Overview

In the Letsmetrix Application Dashboard, users will have access to comprehensive data and insights filtered and calculated according to the chosen timeframe. To explore these dashboards, you must first select a specific app to analyze.

By default, the dashboard shows data for the last 30 days. If you want to see data for a different date range, then select one from the date picker. Letsmetrix can fetch data for up to 30 days. However, for churn and retention rate analysis, it extends to 90 days, and for earnings, data can be fetched for up to 60 days.

Now let’s dive into [how Letsmetrix analyzes keywords](https://app.gitbook.com/o/dEzP9GcVLf8stIIwl21t/s/8KaEyTr3mMTLCU7QQyAU/~/changes/6/understand-dashboard-and-reports/keywords).&#x20;

# Category Position

The "Category Position" section offers valuable insights into your app's ranking across the Shopify platform, helping assess visibility and discoverability to merchants.

### Understand the charts

#### 1. Category Positional Changes

This chart tracks the historical ranking of your app within its assigned Shopify category. It's the best way to see how visible you are to merchants who browse for apps.

<figure><img src="/files/KWE8KdCovObHipg8jfOe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### &#x20;2. Category Popular Positional Changes

This chart displays your app's trending rank within its category. It reflects how Shopify's algorithm perceives your app's current popularity based on strong user engagement signals.

<figure><img src="/files/mwYPDKuzUfvxptCR0xXb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Category Position can benefit you

Analyzing your category positions provides crucial insights into a key aspect of your app's discoverability.

* **Assess Visibility:** This data allows you to understand how easily your app can be found by the significant segment of merchants who browse categories rather than searching. It helps you measure your performance in a primary discovery channel.
* **Benchmark Market Authority:** Tracking your "Popular" position is essential for benchmarking your app's momentum and authority. A high rank in this view indicates strong performance signals that are favored by Shopify's algorithm, reflecting your app's overall health and competitiveness within its niche.
* **Diagnose Performance Changes:** When you notice a change in traffic or installs, these charts help you diagnose the cause. You can quickly determine if a performance shift is due to a drop in your category ranking, rather than just your keyword performance, providing a more complete picture of your app's discoverability.

# Collection Position

The "Collection Position" section provides crucial insights into your app's ranking within curated App Store collections, helping assess your visibility in niche, high-intent discovery channel.

### Understand the charts

#### 1. Collection Positional Changes

This chart tracks the historical ranking of your app within its assigned Shopify collections. It's the best way to see how visible you are to merchants who browse these specific, curated lists.

<figure><img src="/files/1f8SwTCooj93EOidReIv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 2. Collection Popular Positional Changes

This chart tracks your app's ranking within collections when sorted by popularity. It shows you how much momentum and user traction your app has compared to others in the same curated group.

<figure><img src="/files/DmOJ1Vmao8WBajlcy8aQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Collection Position can benefit you

* **Assess Visibility in High-Intent Channels:** Collections often group apps by theme or quality (e.g., "Built for Shopify"). Tracking your position here allows you to measure visibility to highly targeted merchants who are actively looking for specific types of solutions.
* **Measure Trust and Alignment with Shopify:** Ranking well in official Shopify collections acts as a powerful trust signal and an indirect endorsement. Monitoring your position helps you gauge how well your app aligns with Shopify's standards and best practices.
* **Benchmark Against a Curated Competitive Set:** Unlike broad categories, collections represent a specific group of competitors. Analyzing your rank within a collection provides a more focused benchmark of your performance against a relevant competitive set.

# Keywords

The “Keyword” section is your ASO hub, helping you track keyword rankings, understand discovery paths, and analyze competition to boost visibility on the Shopify App Store.

To fully see the traffic and events from each keyword, you must first connect your Shopify Partner API and GA4. Without these connections, you will only see general market data.

### How we get these data

Keyword data is sourced from Google Analytics and is processed to provide you with a clear and actionable view.

### Understand the metrics

This table explains each metric you'll find in the Keyword Analytics dashboard.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th></th><th width="536.0625">Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Metric</strong></td><td><strong>Description</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Keywords</td><td>The specific words or phrases merchants use in the App Store search, helping you identify what your target audience is truly looking for.</td></tr><tr><td>Top 5 Apps</td><td>The top 5 apps currently ranking for a specific keyword. Use this to instantly identify and analyze your main competitors for each search term.</td></tr><tr><td>Difficulty</td><td>An estimated score of how competitive a keyword is, based on the authority of the apps ranking for it. This is crucial for prioritizing your ASO efforts: target low-difficulty keywords for quick wins or high-difficulty ones for your long-term strategy.</td></tr><tr><td>Position</td><td>Your app's current ranking for a specific keyword, updated daily. This metric directly tracks your core ASO performance, answering the question: Are your efforts moving you up or down?</td></tr><tr><td>P.Popular</td><td>(Position Popular) Your app's ranking position when the "Popular" filter is applied to a keyword search. This measures your app's authority and momentum for a keyword, not just its relevance.</td></tr><tr><td>U.Pviews</td><td>(Unique Page Views) The number of views your app page receives from a specific keyword. This metric shows which keywords are effectively driving traffic to your listing.</td></tr><tr><td>U.Events</td><td>(Unique Events) The number of app installations resulting from users finding your app using a specific keyword. This pinpoints which keywords are not just driving traffic, but are converting into actual users.</td></tr><tr><td>%CR</td><td>(Conversion Rate) The percentage of page views that resulted in an installation for a specific keyword. This metric reveals the quality of your traffic. High traffic but low CR may indicate a mismatch between the keyword and your app's value proposition.</td></tr><tr><td>%Bounce</td><td>(Bounce Rate) The percentage of users who view your app page from a specific keyword but leave without installing. A high bounce rate can indicate a mismatch between the searcher's intent and your app listing's content or value proposition, signaling a need to optimize your page.</td></tr><tr><td>Avg Position</td><td>(Average Position) The average ranking position of your app for a specific keyword over the selected time period. This smooths out daily fluctuations, providing a more stable view of your overall ranking performance and long-term trends.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Adding Keywords

You can build and expand your keyword list using two primary methods:

**Manual Addition:** To track a specific term, simply type your keyword into the input field and click **Add**. Ideal for monitoring your primary brand keywords, specific competitor terms, or new ideas from your own research.

This feature provides a market-wide analysis of keyword frequency, showing you how top apps optimize their listings so you can discover high-value keywords.

<figure><img src="/files/oW1WTgVDCftS3Yhd2u4m" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/JktDVz2kr4iqVVXzkk9d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This table breaks down each **Keyword**, showing the **Top Apps** ranking for it, its **Difficulty** score, and a **T.Count** (Total Count) of its appearances in key listing sections like **A.Name** (App Name), **Desc** (Description), **Feat** (Features), and more.

To add a promising keyword directly to your tracking list from this analysis, simply click the "+" button in the **Action** column.

### How Keyword Analytics can benefit you

By leveraging the insights from Keyword Analytics, you can move from reactive adjustments to a proactive ASO strategy. Understanding this data is crucial for making informed decisions that drive visibility, traffic, and sustainable growth.

* **New Keyword Opportunities:** Analyzing the full list of keywords helps you identify untapped search terms and discover new avenues for user acquisition. This insight is essential for expanding your reach and capturing traffic from previously overlooked segments of your target audience.
* **Performance Optimization Analysis:** Understanding the relationship between traffic, ranking, and conversion rate for each keyword allows you to assess the effectiveness of your listing. This information is instrumental in diagnosing performance issues, such as a mismatch between user intent and your value proposition, and optimizing your app page for higher conversions.
* **Competitive Landscape Tracking:** Monitoring the top-ranking apps for your primary keywords provides a clear view of the competitive environment. This is invaluable for benchmarking your performance, identifying emerging threats, and refining your own messaging to stand out in a crowded market.
* **Localization Strategy Development:** Analyzing keyword performance across different languages enables you to evaluate your app's global footprint. This insight helps in identifying high-potential markets, assessing the effectiveness of your translation efforts, and tailoring your localization strategy to resonate with specific language-speaking audiences.

Additionally, by understanding the language your competitors' happiest customers use, you can refine your own marketing messaging to attract them to your app.

# Changelog Tracking

The "Changelog Tracking" section is your competitive intelligence feed, recording all historical modifications made to any competitor's app listing on Shopify.

This timeline chart provides a visual overview of your competitors' ASO strategies over time. By analyzing when and what they change, from pricing and screenshots to their description, you can reverse-engineer their tactics and identify market trends.

### Understand the Changelog

<figure><img src="/files/SwkqaEDjdr5hVyH2mNwQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/GHXvwvqjQfaIKusF9TTV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Change Log Tracking can benefit you

Monitoring your competitors' listing changes provides a powerful strategic advantage, allowing you to move from guessing to knowing.

* **Uncover Competitor Strategies:** When a competitor's ranking suddenly improves, the changelog helps you pinpoint exactly what they changed. By comparing their listing updates (e.g., new keywords, updated screenshots, pricing changes) with their performance, you can break down their ASO tactics and understand what's working in the market right now.&#x20;
* **Identify Market Trends:** By tracking several top-performing apps in your niche, you can identify emerging trends. These patterns give you valuable insights to guide your own product decisions and marketing strategy.&#x20;
* **React Faster to Market Shifts:** Get a critical speed advantage by being the first to know when a key competitor launches a new feature, adjusts their pricing, or changes their core messaging. This allows you to quickly assess the impact on your own business and decide if you need to respond, ensuring you never get blindsided.

# Install & Uninstall

The Install & Uninstall dashboard provides an overview of app growth and churn, helping you track acquisition, retention signals, and overall user base health.

### How we get these data

Install & Uninstall data is collected from Shopify API App Events and processed into actionable insights.

The metric includes repeated installations and uninstallations; it does not count unique users. *Example: If a merchant installs, uninstalls, and then reinstalls on the same day, it will count as 2 Installs and 1 Uninstall.*

# Retention & churn

The Retention & Churn dashboard provides cohort-based insights into user retention and churn, helping you evaluate post-install loyalty and long-term user base health.

## Understand the dashboard

The dashboard is built around a powerful retention cohort chart, which shows you what percentage of users who installed on a specific day are still active over time.

* **Retention Rate:** The percentage of users from an initial group (cohort) who are still using your app after a specific period (e.g., Day 1, Day 7, Day 30). A higher rate indicates that users are finding long-term value.
* **Churn Rate:** The inverse of the retention rate. It represents the percentage of users from a cohort who have stopped using the app. A lower rate is a sign of a positive user experience.

<figure><img src="/files/cYGAw80jAq3IxieNYYxJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can interact with the chart to get deeper insights:

* **Filtering Options:** Use the tabs (**All Merchants, Free, Paid**) to filter the cohort data. This allows you to compare the retention and churn behavior across different user segments.

<figure><img src="/files/lyP7QwsvC3MrwIHNgMRp" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/3t8aiSwFIsKVZgvezIqy" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Active Subscriptions data can benefit you

* **Sustainable Revenue Tracking:** This represents your "healthiest" customer group – those who are actively paying for and using your product, forming the backbone of your predictable revenue.
* **Low Churn Risk Identification:** Compared to "Zombie users" (those who pay but don't use the app), this active group typically has a much higher renewal rate and long-term loyalty.
* **Customer Support Target:** This is the number one priority group for your Support team. Maintaining the satisfaction of these active paying users is critical for minimizing churn and maximizing Lifetime Value (LTV).

# Churned Subscriptions

The “Churned Subscriptions” dashboard provides a comprehensive view of your churned user base, helping you identify when and why customers stop paying for your services.

### How we get these data

Churned Subscriptions data is gathered from Shopify API App Events and Transactions to support decision-making and retention strategies.

### Understand the dashboard

Churned Subscription is the total number of users (shops) that have ended their paying status during the reporting period. A user is counted as a Churned Subscription if they fall into one of two cases:

* **Downgrade group:** Switching from a Paid Plan to a Free Plan.
* **Uninstall group:** Uninstalling the application or closing the shop while using a Paid Plan.

#### 1. Churned Subscription

The chart visualizes the total number of churned subscriptions over your selected time period (Days, Weeks, Months), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period. You can view the chart in either Combined/Separate mode.

<figure><img src="/files/LU4ghcCKoyqZ4469lqzX" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Churned Subscriptions data can benefit you

* **Identifying Revenue Leak:** This metric highlights the direct cause of revenue decline, allowing you to see exactly how much potential income is being lost.
* **Analyzing Product Fit:** By monitoring churn, you can gain insights into your product's value proposition. If the churn rate is high among the Downgrade group, your paid features might not be attractive enough. If it is high in the Uninstall group, it may indicate broader issues with the entire product experience.

# MRR

The “MRR” dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of your monthly recurring revenue, serving as the primary indicator of your application's financial stability and growth trajectory.

### How we get these data

MRR data is gathered from Shopify API App Events to support real-time financial tracking and strategic decision-making.

### Understand the dashboard

MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) is the total projected monthly revenue from all users with an active paying status (Active Subscription).

* MRR is activated immediately when the user agrees to pay.
* MRR is deducted immediately when the user cancels the plan (to Free or Uninstall/Frozen).

**Note:**

* For Annual Plans: Usually divided by 12 to convert to monthly value.
* Includes One-time charges or Usage charges.
* This is projected revenue under the ideal scenario that all paying users will use the app until the end of the billing cycle.

#### 1. Monthly Recurring Revenue&#x20;

This line chart visualizes the total MRR trend over your selected time period (Day, Week, Month), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period, allowing you to see the daily health of your revenue.

### How MRR Growth data can benefit you

* **Momentum Measurement:** It serves as a key indicator of the expansion speed of your product, showing how fast your business is growing relative to its previous size.
* **Net Negative Churn:** A positive MRR Growth Rate confirms that your revenue from new customer acquisitions and existing user upgrades is effectively compensating for any revenue lost from churned customers.

# ARR

The “ARR” dashboard provides a high-level view of your projected annual revenue, helping you evaluate the long-term financial scale and performance of your application.

### How we get these data

ARR data is gathered from Shopify API App Events to support long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making.

### Understand the dashboard

ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) is the recurring revenue value annualized. This is an extended version of MRR to look at the long-term financial picture.

**Note:**

* For Monthly Subscription Plans: Usually multiplied by 12 to convert to annual value.
* Includes One-time charges or Usage charges but not multiplied by 12.
* This is projected revenue under the ideal scenario that all paying users will use the app until the end of the billing cycle.

#### 1. Annual Run Rate&#x20;

The line chart visualizes the total ARR trend over your selected time period (Day, Week, Month), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period, highlighting the overall growth of your business scale. You can view the chart in either Combined/Separate mode.

<figure><img src="/files/Q5WZP1TGcdZbg1t0KilN" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How ARR data can benefit you

* **Company Valuation:** ARR is the primary metric used as a scale measure when raising capital, seeking investments, or determining the market value of your company.
* **Long-term Strategic Vision:** This metric is ideal for high-level reporting (C-level) and annual business reviews, as it filters out minor monthly fluctuations to show the true trajectory of the business.

# Fees

The “Fees” dashboard provides a detailed breakdown of the costs deducted from your gross earnings, ensuring you have a clear understanding of your actual net profit.

### How we get these data

Fees data is gathered from Transaction records to support precise financial tracking and transparent business management.

### Understand the dashboard

Fee is the total costs that the Developer must pay or be deducted before receiving money into the bank account. Fee structure includes:

* **Revenue Share:** Revenue share paid to Shopify.
* **Operational Fees:** Transaction processing fees or registration fees (if any).
* **Taxes:** Taxes applied according to local laws (VAT/GST) that Shopify collects on behalf or the Developer must pay.

**Shopify Fee Policy (Latest Policy)**

According to the latest regulations (applied to Shopify App Store):

* **0% Revenue Share:** For the first $1,000,000 USD revenue earned each calendar year (annually).
* **15% Revenue Share:** Applied to revenue exceeding $1,000,000 in that year.
* **Registration Fee:** $19 USD (paid once when creating a Partner account, usually not counted in monthly operational metrics).

Where Revenue Share is calculated cumulatively by year (Year-to-date):

* If Total Revenue (YTD) <= $1,000,000: Revenue Share = 0.
* If Total Revenue (YTD) > $1,000,000: Revenue Share = 15% \* (Revenue of this month). Note: This logic needs to reset to 0 on January 01 every year.

The “Total Fee” chart visualizes the daily fluctuations of your total fees over the selected time period (Day, Week, Month), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period, helping you monitor cost trends relative to revenue.

<figure><img src="/files/mUnB9M5Ed1J41b5V082u" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The breakout table provides a granular daily view of the total fees incurred, allowing for precise auditing of daily expenses

The panels below offer a quick historical comparison of your total fees against your performance from 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months ago to track cost evolution as your business scales.

<figure><img src="/files/jLHy2up5lUqHpw325qnZ" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Fees data can benefit you

* **Financial Planning:** Understanding the fee structure is essential for forecasting your **Net Revenue** accurately, especially when the App is about to hit the $1 million threshold (when the profit margin will drop by 15%).

# LTV

The “Lifetime Value” dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the projected total revenue generated by your customers, helping you evaluate the long-term profitability of your user base.

### How we get these data

LTV data is gathered from Shopify API App Events to support decision-making and marketing budget optimization.

### Understand the dashboard

LTV (Lifetime Value) is the total projected revenue a paying customer will bring to the application throughout their usage period.

**Calculation Logic**

Basic formula for SaaS Subscription model:&#x20;

<p align="center"><mark style="color:$info;">LTV = ARPU / Churn Rate</mark></p>

**Note:** Churn Rate here should be the % of users cancelling paid plans monthly (User Churn Rate).

This line chart visualizes the trend of your projected LTV over your selected time period (Day, Week, Month), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period, allowing you to monitor how customer value changes in response to pricing or retention shifts.

<figure><img src="/files/ghfQRJ2CpUxSLpcTNcoH" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The breakout table provides a detailed daily view of the LTV values that contribute to this trend, helping you pinpoint specific days of fluctuation.

<figure><img src="/files/vPlJuqcGORcvpwOHodLm" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How LTV data can benefit you

* **Marketing Compass:** LTV serves as a critical guide to determine your Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) limit. By knowing a customer's total value, you can decide exactly how much you can afford to spend to acquire a new user.
* **Golden Rule:** It allows you to monitor your LTV:CAC ratio. A healthy and sustainable SaaS business typically maintains a ratio where LTV is greater than CAC (ideally an LTV:CAC ratio > 3:1).

# Revenue

The “Revenue” dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the income generated by your application, allowing you to track both total billings from merchants and your actual earnings.

### How we get these data

Revenue data is gathered from Shopify Partner Dashboard and Transactions to support precise financial tracking and decision-making.

### Understand the dashboard

Revenue is the amount recorded from selling the application. Divided into 2 types:

* **Gross Revenue:** Total amount users have paid (Billings) before deducting any fees.
* **Net Revenue:** Actual amount received by the Developer.

**Calculation Logic**

* Gross Revenue = Total value of successful - Transactions.
* Net Revenue = Gross Revenue - Fee.

#### 1. Revenue (Gross)

The line chart visualizes your revenue trends over time, with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period. You can toggle between **Gross** and **Net** views, and adjust the granularity by Day, Week, or Month.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/pCJik7wViJiFPMKzSM2q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The breakout table provides a daily record of your revenue, helping you identify specific days of high or low financial performance.

The panels below offer a quick historical comparison of your current revenue against previous months and years to track the growth trajectory of your business.

<figure><img src="/files/pMRpDOg6yumnRZpNbLb5" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 2. Revenue Customers

This table displays a list of recent transactions, including the shop name, the date of payment, the billing interval (e.g., Monthly), and the specific amount contributed to your revenue.

<figure><img src="/files/tIlthHyxC6j3tjOJ5bGl" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Revenue data can benefit you

* **Sales Volume Assessment:** Monitoring Gross Revenue is essential for assessing your overall sales volume and tracking your progress toward Shopify’s $1,000,000 annual threshold.
* **Operational Management:** Net Revenue represents your actual cash flow ("Cash in bank"). It is the primary figure used to calculate profit and manage business operations such as paying salaries and server costs.

# ARPU

The “ARPU” dashboard provides a clear look at the average monthly revenue generated by each of your paying customers, helping you evaluate the effectiveness of your monetization strategy.

### How we get these data

ARPU data is gathered from Shopify API App Events to support data-driven decision-making.

### Understand the dashboard

ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) in this context is strictly understood as ARPPU (Average Revenue Per Paying User) - The average revenue a paying customer brings in a month.

**Calculation Logic**

Formula:&#x20;

<p align="center"><mark style="color:$info;">ARPU = MRR / Active Subscriptions</mark></p>

#### 1. ARPU&#x20;

The line chart visualizes the fluctuations of your ARPU over the selected time period (Day, Week, Month), with a percentage comparison against the previous 31-day period, allowing you to see how the average spending per user evolves.

<figure><img src="/files/pUdy85ua0gSKdBtcsSDZ" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The breakout table shows the exact daily ARPU values, helping you pinpoint specific days where customer spending patterns shifted.

These panels provide a quick historical comparison of your current ARPU against benchmarks from 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months ago to identify growth or decline trends in customer value.

#### 2. Plans

This table breaks down your active customer base and revenue contribution by plan tier, helping you identify which specific plans are driving your average revenue per user.

<figure><img src="/files/CIGKHslx4tdDknzvMJso" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How ARPU data can benefit you

* **Refining Pricing Strategy:** ARPU serves as a health check for your pricing. If your ARPU is consistently low, it may indicate that your plan prices are too cheap or that your user base is overly concentrated in the lowest-priced tier.
* **Revenue Optimization:** Increasing ARPU through upselling (moving users to higher plans) or cross-selling (additional features) is usually easier and more cost-effective than acquiring entirely new customers. ARPU helps you track the success of these efforts.

# Upgrades & Downgrades

The “Upgrades & Downgrades” dashboard tracks the internal movements of your paying customer base across different plan tiers, providing insight into user sentiment and plan value.

### How we get these data&#x20;

Upgrades & Downgrades data is gathered from Shopify API App Events to support product optimization and revenue growth strategies.

### Understand the dashboard

A metric tracking customer movement between paid plans (Paid Plans):

* **Upgrade:** User switches from a lower paid plan to a higher paid plan (Increases MRR).
* **Downgrade:** User switches from a higher paid plan to a lower paid plan (Decreases MRR).

**Note:** Switching from "Paid" to "Free" is counted in "Churned Subscription", not counted in Downgrade.

#### 1. Upgrades & Downgrades

The line chart visualizes the net movement trend over your selected time period.

<figure><img src="/files/ZBHcK2wINpQ33pqppEo3" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The breakout table provides a daily breakdown of these movements, categorizing them into **Expansion** (Upgrades), **Contraction** (Downgrades), and the resulting **Net change**.

The panels below offer a quick historical comparison of your current net changes against benchmarks from 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months ago.

<figure><img src="/files/Xmc0c4sOZoMdh0KOwvAL" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**How Upgrades & Downgrades data can benefit you**

* **Measuring Expansion Revenue:** Upgrades are a strong indicator that users perceive increasing value from your application and are willing to pay more for advanced features.
* **Warning for Pricing Value:** Downgrades serve as a warning that users may feel a premium package is not worth its current price, although they still find enough value to keep the app rather than uninstalling it entirely.

# User Acquisition

The “User Acquisition” dashboard reveals how users discover your app and move from first visit to installation, helping you differentiate between high-volume traffic and truly high-quality users.

### Understand the dashboard&#x20;

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="134.0703125"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Metric</strong></td><td><strong>Definition</strong></td></tr><tr><td>New Users</td><td>The count of unique users who triggered the first_visit or first_open event within a specified date range, representing first-time interactions with your site or app.</td></tr><tr><td>Active Users</td><td>The number of unique users who had an engaged session on your site or app within a specified date range.</td></tr><tr><td>Event</td><td>The fundamental unit of measurement in GA4. An event captures any distinct user interaction (e.g., button clicks, video plays) or system occurrence on your website or app.</td></tr><tr><td>Page View</td><td>A specific core event (page_view) automatically triggers each time a user loads a webpage or when the browser's history state changes.</td></tr><tr><td>Scroll</td><td>An Enhanced Measurement event (scroll) logged exactly once per page when a user scrolls to 90% of the webpage's vertical depth.</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### **1. Trend Analysis Charts**

**1.1. Are you acquiring high-quality new users?**

This chart compares the daily volume of **New Users** against actual **Installs**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/SkQ7GzZdVxPzU19jfxWU" alt="" width="370"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

It helps you visualize if your traffic-generating efforts are successfully converting into app installations.

**1.2. Are users engaging at the top but missing the rest?**

This chart tracks the relationship between total **Active Users** and **New Users**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/JjAEtCFuCcKY9vmQevvF" alt="" width="370"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

A close overlap suggests your traffic is primarily driven by new acquisitions, while a gap indicates a healthy base of retained users.

**1.3. Are active users mostly new or retained?**

This chart evaluates the depth of user interaction.

<figure><img src="/files/MUrnPkLbaK6xJA749w6X" alt="" width="369"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By comparing **Avg Engagement** with the **Scroll Rate**, you can identify if users are only viewing the top fold of your page or exploring your content deeply.

**1.4. Is the conversion funnel healthy?**

This area chart visualizes the volume drop-off throughout the acquisition journey, from **Page Vỉew** to **Add App Button** and **Shopify App Install**.

<figure><img src="/files/5EXMeeymFUPml6ORKCY1" alt="" width="370"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### **2. Performance Analysis Charts**

**2.1. Do page views convert to actual installs?**

A funnel visualization that calculates the conversion percentage between each critical stage. It highlights exactly where potential users are dropping off in your sales process.

<figure><img src="/files/BNDLwWX5yayzUtVjU5Yp" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**2.2. Which types of your users?**

A scatter plot that segments your **Active Users** based on their engagement behavior and scroll depth.

<figure><img src="/files/UgNhhmeErJZYXYS4h5DF" alt="" width="329"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Larger dots indicate a higher concentration of users in that specific engagement segment.

By mapping the relationship between active interaction and scroll depth, this chart categorizes your audience into four distinct **Engagement Typologies**. Understanding these profiles helps you determine if users are truly consuming your value proposition or just passing through:

* **High Interest:** Highly active users who scroll deep and interact frequently.
* **Skimmers:** Users who scroll deep into the content but rarely interact.
* **Top Heavy:** Users who engage mainly at the top and miss the rest of the page.
* **Low Interest:** Users who drop off quickly with minimal scrolling or interaction.

**2.3. Which sources drive quality over quantity?**

This chart compares different traffic sources *(Organic Shopping, Organic Search, Referral)* based on the volume of new users they bring in versus the average time those users spend engaged.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/f6xKN5CifR70sbUSgBQY" alt="" width="329"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

It helps you identify which channels provide the most valuable traffic.

Evaluating the volume of **New Users** against their **Average Engagement Time** reveals the true ROI of each acquisition channel. We categorize these into four **Types of Sources** to help you optimize your marketing budget:

* **Star Performers:** Excellent sources bringing in a large number of highly engaged users.
* **Hidden Gems:** Smaller sources that deliver a few, but very high-quality users.
* **Volume Drivers:** Sources generating mass traffic, but users tend to leave quickly.
* **Underperformers:** Sources bringing in few users with very low engagement.

### How User Acquisition data can benefit you

* **Focus on Quality Users:** Prioritize channels that deliver active, retained users who continue to engage with your app, rather than just driving high volumes of low-quality traffic.
* **Identify High-Value Channels:** Move beyond looking at raw traffic numbers to see which specific sources (Organic vs. Referral) actually result in app installs and high engagement.
* **Optimize the Conversion Funnel:** Pinpoint where users drop off in the journey and leverage engagement signals (clicks, scroll depth) to improve your app listing’s copy, visuals, and overall conversion performance.

# Traffic Acquisition

The "Traffic Acquisition" dashboard shows where traffic comes from and how each channel performs, analyzing all sessions to identify sources that drive the most valuable interactions.

### Understand the dashboard&#x20;

This area chart visualizes the gap between **Total Sessions** and **Engaged Sessions**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/PMcPKmNOZ4HWTbSnvtXt" alt="" width="352"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

A smaller gap indicates that most of your traffic consists of high-intent visitors who are genuinely interacting with your app listing.

**1.3. How intense is the average user session?**

By tracking **Avg Engagement Duration** and **Avg Event Count**, this chart measures how "busy" a typical user is during their visit.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/g1MjqG7W1mt3jErs5Op8" alt="" width="352"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Higher peaks suggest that users are exploring multiple features or reading your content thoroughly.

**1.4. Which channels are driving traffic over time?**

This chart tracks the performance trends of various acquisition channels *(Email, Referral, Paid Search, Organic Search, Direct)*.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/W5XmwfHjboFvluM1CNxh" alt="" width="352"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 2. Performance Analysis Charts

**2.1. Which source/medium best converts intent into installs?**

A detailed bar chart that breaks down the conversion funnel (Sessions -> Add App -> Install) for each specific source.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/EeDQmEQI18azAmJTE8iL" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

It identifies which platforms (e.g., Google, Shopify,...) are most effective at turning curiosity into a successful install.

**2.2. Which types of traffic are brought by source / medium?**

This scatter plot compares browsing behavior across different sources.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/HfHmoZfLZr2WSUy9Np8O" alt="" width="353"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

It helps you see which sources bring high **Page Views** versus high **Scroll Rate**, identifying exactly how different types of traffic consume your content.

**2.3. How intense is the engagement from each source / medium?**

This bubble chart visualizes the relationship between the volume of sessions and the intensity of engagement.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/2qNVhlDtGeUCnGv1AS7y" alt="" width="352"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

It helps you quickly spot sources that bring both a high volume of traffic and high engagement duration.

By synthesizing the patterns of browsing depth *(Chart 2.2)* and engagement intensity *(Chart 2.3)*, you can categorize your traffic sources into four distinct **Behavioral Focus** types. This classification allows you to identify which channels are truly driving value and which ones need optimization:

* **Golden Sources:** Highly engaged traffic that explores many pages and reads the content deeply.
* **Potential Sources:** Attentive users who read deeply but only visit a few specific pages.
* **Skimmers:** Users who quickly click through many pages without actually reading the content.
* **Focused Users:** Users who visit very few pages and barely scroll, likely looking for a quick answer before leaving.

#### **How Traffic Acquisition data can benefit you**

* **Optimize Spend & Channel Performance:** Identify underperforming channels (e.g., low engagement or sudden traffic drops) and reallocate budget to sources that consistently drive high-quality users.
* **Align Content with Channel Behavior:** Use browsing and engagement data (e.g., scroll depth vs. page views) to tailor your app listing experience for different traffic sources and improve conversion.

# Shopify ASO Audit

This guide shows you how to use the ASO Audit tool, step by step. No technical knowledge is needed. You can start without an account.

**About the screenshots in this guide**

Every illustration below comes from a real audit run inside the tool. We searched *Blockify*, picked the app named *Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker*, and audited it against the target keyword fraud blocker. The numbers you see are this app's live results, so you can match each screen to what you will see on your own.

### **1.** What this tool does

The ASO Audit checks any Shopify app listing and gives you:

• A health score out of 100, based on 6 parts of your listing.\
• A list of the Top 5 fixes to do first.\
• An AI Writer that rewrites your listing text (app name, subtitle, intro, details).

In short, it tells you what to fix and what to fix first with clear reasons. You can audit your own app or any competitor's app.

<figure><img src="/files/5LLL3H3qzGHuYSwbjd0u" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### 2. The 3 access levels

You can use the tool in three ways. More access means more accurate data.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="186.170166015625"></th><th width="221.1328125"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Level</strong></td><td><strong>What you need</strong></td><td><strong>What you get</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Visitor</strong> (no account)</td><td>Nothing</td><td>Full audit with <em>estimated</em> momentum data. Some panels are locked.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Free account</strong></td><td>Sign up (email or Google)</td><td>Same audit, plus you can save apps and use the AI Writer. Momentum data is still estimated.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Connected</strong></td><td>Free account + connect Shopify Partner</td><td><em>Verified</em> momentum data, badges, 1-star review alerts, and personal tips.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### 3. Step-by-step: your first audit

#### Step 1: Open the tool and search

1\. Go to the ASO Audit page.

2\. In the search box at the top, type the app name.

3\. A dropdown shows up to 4 matching apps.

4\. Click the app you want.

**TIP:** You can also paste the full App Store link (apps.shopify.com/your-app) and press **Enter**. The tool will find the app for you. If you make a small typo, a *"Did you mean...?"* suggestion will appear.

<figure><img src="/files/yzKJdDLjLZDWyTW5o8tK" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Before the audit runs, the tool asks for your target keywords. We set the **Primary keyword** to "*fraud* *blocker"* and added "*blocker"* as a **Secondary keyword**, then clicked **Run audit**. (See Section 4 for how this works.)

<figure><img src="/files/RXyHz2Lcu6fnSoyTKOlV" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Read your overall score

The audit loads in about 1–2 seconds. At the top you will see an **overall score out of 100** and **six dimension cards** (the 6 parts of your listing). Each card has a color that tells you how urgent it is:

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="114.7899169921875"></th><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Color</strong></td><td><strong>Meaning</strong></td><td><strong>What to do</strong></td></tr><tr><td><mark style="color:green;"><strong>Green</strong></mark></td><td>Good (75%+)</td><td>Low priority. Leave it for now.</td></tr><tr><td><mark style="color:$warning;"><strong>Amber</strong></mark></td><td>Has a gap (50–74%)</td><td>Fix this soon.</td></tr><tr><td><mark style="color:red;"><strong>Red</strong></mark></td><td>Critical gap (under 50%)</td><td>Fix this first.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<figure><img src="/files/X2Ms5MXB29b3t9hWFAPJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 3: Open each dimension to see details

Click any dimension card to expand it. You will see **What's working** (what you do well) and **What's missing** (what to improve). The six dimensions, in simple terms:

1. **Title & Tagline:** your app name and subtitle.
2. **Description:** your intro text and details text.
3. **Visuals:** your banners, video, and icon.
4. **Categories & Integrations:** your category fit and integrations list.
5. **Technical & Trust:** Built for Shopify badge, clear pricing, recent updates, privacy.
6. **Velocity & Sentiment:** your install/review momentum, category rank trend, and review health. This part is unique to Letsmetrix and carries the most weight.

<figure><img src="/files/izyXuHPc2uWjaKC7UKhK" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/5SNx5sBYXn6lvSpbBaij" alt="" width="328"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 4: Read your Top 5 fixes

Below the scores you will find the **Top 5 prioritized fixes**. They are ordered by two things:

* **Impact:** how much the fix helps your score.&#x20;
* **Ease**: how quick the fix is.

Each fix card shows a rank, the impact, the effort, and which dimension it helps. Quick text edits appear near the top because they are easy and helpful.

* When a fix is about your listing text, you will see *"Apply with AI Writer"* (see Section 6).&#x20;
* When you finish a fix, tick its *"Done"* checkbox. The card fades to show progress.

<figure><img src="/files/ZUI6rVKZLkmN87UQlP9o" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**How to read this from the Demo**

For *Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker*, the fastest wins are the four text fixes (#1, #2, #4, #5) - all rated ease 5/5 and solvable in the AI Writer in under a minute. The video fix (#3) has the highest impact of all but takes longer to record and caption, so the tool ranks the quick text edits ahead of it.

### 4. Set your target keyword (recommended)

By default the tool guesses your main keyword from your app name and subtitle. This is fine, but you get a sharper audit if you tell it the exact keyword you want to rank for.

1. Click **Set target keywords**.
2. A small window opens with three fields:

* **Primary keyword**: your one main keyword.
* **Secondary keywords:** 1–3 supporting keywords.&#x20;
* **Long-tail keywords:** longer phrases (optional).

3. As you type, the tool shows the **search volume** and **difficulty** for each keyword, so you can pick a keyword that is popular but still realistic to win.
4. Type your primary keyword and press **Enter**.

The audit re-runs against your target. The banner at the top changes from *"We detected X as your keyword"* to *"Auditing against your target: X"*. Your score updates to match your real goal.

### 5. Save or share your audit

* Click **Share audit** to copy the link to your clipboard. Send it to a teammate, or save it for later.&#x20;
* The link keeps your target keywords. Anyone who opens it sees the same audit you saw.
* The audit also has a **Download PDF** button, so you can export the full report and share it offline.

### 6. Use the AI Writer

The AI Writer rewrites your listing text to fit Shopify's rules and use your keywords well. You need to be signed in to use it.

#### Step 1: Open the Writer

Click **Apply with AI Writer** on any text fix (for example, on a Subtitle suggestion). A panel slides in

from the right. If you are not signed in, a sign-up window appears first. Create a free account, then continue.

#### Step 2: Pick your version

For each field (app name, subtitle, intro, details), the Writer creates **3 versions**:

* Each version shows its **character count** and a check for your keywords.&#x20;
* Version 1 has a **"Recommended"** badge.

Read the three versions and click "**Use this"** on the one you like. Its border turns green and shows **"Selected"**.

<figure><img src="/files/E6DH1NkaeTErnnwLrf6V" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 3: Apply your choices

1. Click **Apply**.
2. Your chosen text is copied to your clipboard.
3. You will see a confirmation: *"X variants copied to clipboard."*
4. Open your **Shopify Partners** dashboard and paste the new text into your listing.

If you click **Apply** without choosing any version, the tool reminds you to "Select at least 1 version."

#### Step 4: Save a draft (optional)

If you are working on several fields, click **Save draft** so you can come back later. Your selected versions stay saved to your account. To close the **Writer**, press **Esc** or click outside the panel.

### 7. Connect Shopify Partner (for verified data)

This step is optional, but it makes your audit far more accurate. Without it, the momentum numbers are estimated. After connecting, they are verified.

1. Sign in to your free account.
2. Click **Connect Shopify Partner**.
3. Approve the connection (read-only access to your app metrics).&#x20;
4. Wait 2–5 minutes for the first sync.

After connecting, your dashboard adds:

* **Verified scores** instead of estimates.
* **Excellence badges** when your app earns them (see below).
* **1-star review alerts** so you can reply within 24 hours.
* **Retention and competitor insights** you cannot see otherwise.

You connect Partner to see the *true score*, not to get extra points. Your score is always capped at 100.

**WHY THIS MATTERS**

Our audit of *Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker* ran as a visitor, so the momentum figure (velocity 24/25) is estimated. Connecting **Shopify Partner** would replace the estimate with the real install/retention numbers (D1/D7).

### 8. Excellence badges

Badges are a mark of quality shown on the app card. They do not change your score; they show merchants your app is strong in one area.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="177.220458984375"></th><th width="420.0477294921875"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Badge</strong></td><td><strong>You earn it when</strong></td><td><strong>Needs Partner?</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Top Retention</td><td>Your 30-day retention is above 50%</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Top 10% Velocity</td><td>Your install speed is in the top 10% of your category</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Loved by Merchants</td><td>90%+ positive reviews and steady new reviews</td><td>No</td></tr><tr><td>Rising Star</td><td>Your rank climbs 5+ places per week over 4 weeks</td><td>No</td></tr><tr><td>Global Ready</td><td>Your listing supports 8+ languages</td><td>No</td></tr></tbody></table>

**LIVE DEMO**

*Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker* earned the **Loved by Merchants badge** - it has a 4.9-star rating across 1,505 reviews, and that badge needs no Partner connection. It does not yet have Global Ready, because its listing supports only 1 language.

### 9. Ongoing use (for connected users)

Once connected, come back any day to check:

* **Verified changes** in your score since yesterday.
* **New 1-star reviews** to reply to quickly.
* **Competitor changes** - track up to 10 competitors and see every listing edit (price, screenshots, text, badges, category).

<figure><img src="/files/i2no1rlOiNqTky0GDU4B" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/pQ7MHpa6c21WECG6kdH8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Quick FAQ

**Do I need to pay?**

No. The tool is free, including the free account.

**Do I need an account just to audit an app?**

No. You can audit any app as a visitor. An account is only needed for the AI Writer and saved data.

**Why is my visitor score a little different from my connected score?**

As a visitor, some momentum data is estimated, so the score can differ by a few points. The connected score is the accurate one.

**Can I audit a competitor?**

Yes. Search any app. Momentum data for apps you do not own is always estimated.

**Can I change my listing from inside the tool?**

Not yet. The AI Writer copies the new text to your clipboard, and you paste it into your Shopify Partners dashboard.

**A NOTE ON CATEGORIES**&#x20;

Shopify usually lets you set your category once. Double-check it before you submit any change in Shopify Partners.

# Shopify Store Audit

This guide shows you how to use the Store App Audit tool, step by step. No technical knowledge is needed.

**About the screenshots in this guide**

Every illustration below comes from a real audit run inside the tool. We entered the store <mark style="color:red;">kylie-jenner-us.myshopify.com</mark> and let the tool scan it. That store runs 2 apps for $40/month and scored 88/100, so the numbers you see are its live results.

### **1.** What this tool does

The Store App Audit scans the apps installed in your Shopify store and gives you:

* An **App Health Score** out of 100.
* Your **total monthly app cost** and **possible savings**.&#x20;
* A list of **unused**, **high-risk**, and **overlapping** apps.
* Clear actions: **remove**, **replace**, or **combine** apps.

It helps you answer four simple questions: Which apps waste money? Which slow my store? Which are risky? Which do the same job?

<figure><img src="/files/eqHBbVvUU7jrEr8zryWd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### 2. Before you start

You need:

* A Shopify store you own or manage.
* Admin access to approve the connection.

Please note that the tool only reads your data. It never changes, removes, or installs anything in your store. You stay in control of every action.

### 3. Step-by-step

#### Step 1: Start your audit

1\. Open the Store App Audit page.

2\. Click **Audit My Store Now**.

3\. Enter your store URL.

4\. Click **Run Audit**.

If the URL is not valid, you will see an error. Simply check it and enter it again.

<figure><img src="/files/JuGTD7e5DNdrbOlvPxN9" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Connect your store

1. You will be sent to Shopify's secure sign-in.&#x20;
2. Review the permissions, then click **Approve**.&#x20;
3. We ask only for **read-only** access:

* See your installed apps.
* Check your themes and scripts (to measure speed impact).&#x20;
* Read order activity (for usage analytics).

We only read your data. If you decline, the audit cannot run.

#### Step 3: Wait for the scan

The tool collects your apps, themes, scripts, and recent activity, then analyzes them. This takes only a short moment.

#### Step 4: Confirm your app costs

1. You will see a table: **App Name**, **Plan**, **Estimated Cost**, and **Usage**.
2. We fill in the costs automatically from our database.
3. Check each row. If your real plan is different (Free / Basic / Pro / Enterprise), adjust it.&#x20;

This step makes your cost and savings numbers accurate.

<figure><img src="/files/Po2rOljkf2xKWtMaoR0W" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The tool can only detect part of the apps installed in your store. It surfaces the ones it can see from public signals and our database, so some of your apps may not appear automatically.&#x20;

For an accurate audit, use **"Add an app we missed..."** in this step to enter any app you actually use that is not listed. The more complete your app list, the more accurate your cost, savings, risk, and redundancy analysis will be.

#### Step 5: Read your dashboard

The dashboard shows your store's app health at a glance:

* **App Health Score (0–100)**: overall health from cost, usage, risk, and performance
* **Total Monthly App Cost**
* **Potential Monthly Savings**
* **Number of Unused Apps**
* **Number of High-Risk Apps**
* **Number of Redundant Apps**

Your apps are also grouped by risk level: Low, Medium, or High.

**How to read this from the Demo**

The demo store scores 85 / 100 (Healthy): every app is used (0 unused), none is risky (0 high-risk), and nothing overlaps (0 redundant). Because the stack is already lean, potential savings are $0. There is nothing wasteful to cut.

#### Step 6: Explore the charts

* **Treemap**: box size shows cost, color shows how much you use the app (green = high use, red =

  unused). Large red boxes are your best savings targets.
* **Bar chart**: compare the cost of apps in the same category.
* **Pie chart**: see where your spending goes, by category.
* **Scatter plot**: find apps that are both high cost and high risk.

<figure><img src="/files/fxsHoDhTeGlm4bQJYQsT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 7: Review each app

The app list lets you sort and filter every installed app. Each row shows:

* Category
* Monthly cost
* Usage Level (High / Medium / Low / Unused)
* Usage Score
* Performance Impact (High / Medium / Low)
* Risk Score
* Redundancy (does another app do the same job?)
* A suggested action

<figure><img src="/files/ANv2qSjPEe6jkFYlU9TM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 8: Take action

For each app, you get a clear suggestion:

* **Remove**: for unused or low-value apps. The tool links you to your Shopify Admin to uninstall.
* **Replace:** for costly or low-rated apps. The tool suggests a better or cheaper alternative from Letsmetrix.
* **Consolidate**: when two apps overlap, keep the stronger one and drop the others.

<figure><img src="/files/bdF57reIkiPDzT61MQKY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 9: Schedule the next audit

1. Click **Schedule next audit**.
2. Choose how often: Weekly, Monthly, or Custom.&#x20;
3. Confirm.

You will be reminded to re-check your app stack on time.

### 4. Understanding the scores

**App Health Score (0–100):** your overall app stack health. Higher is better. It combines usage, risk, performance, and cost efficiency.

**Usage Level:** how often an app is opened:

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="108.7725830078125"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Level</strong></td><td><strong>Meaning</strong></td></tr><tr><td>High</td><td>Used in the last 7 days</td></tr><tr><td>Medium</td><td>Used 8–30 days ago</td></tr><tr><td>Low</td><td>Used 31–90 days ago</td></tr><tr><td>Unused</td><td>Not opened in over 90 days</td></tr><tr><td>New</td><td>Installed in the last 14 days (we wait before judging)</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Risk Score (0–100):** higher means more risk. It looks at the app's rating, how recently it was updated, the developer's support quality, and how sensitive its permissions are. Any app above 70 is flagged as high-risk.

**Performance Impact (High / Medium / Low):** how much an app may slow your store. Slow pages can lower your sales.

**Redundancy:** when two apps do the same core job. Keeping both usually wastes money.

### 5. The permissions we request

We ask only for read-only access:

* **Installed apps** - to list and analyze them.
* **Themes and scripts** - to estimate speed impact.&#x20;
* **Order activity** - for usage analytics.

We never write, edit, or uninstall anything. Every change stays yours to confirm in Shopify.

# AI Review Insights

This guide shows you how to use the AI Review Insights tool, step by step. No technical knowledge is needed. The tool is free, and you can start without an account.

**About the screenshots in this guide**

Every illustration below comes from a real analysis run inside the tool. We searched *Blockify* and opened *Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker* (4.9★, 1,505 reviews). The numbers, themes, and quotes you see are this app's live results, so you can match each screen to what you will see on your own.

### **1.** What this tool does

Type the name of any Shopify app, and the tool reads all of its App Store reviews for you. In seconds, you get:

* An **AI summary** of what users think.
* The app's **strengths** and **weaknesses**.
* The **features users ask for most**.
* **Sentiment scores** across 5 areas.
* **Review status tracking** (active / archived / deleted).&#x20;
* A full, filterable **review list** you can export.

You can analyze your own app or any competitor's app.

<figure><img src="/files/kGrUkGSSeIHJP37LtaVA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### 2. Guest vs free account

You can use the tool as a guest. A free Letsmetrix account unlocks more.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="370.16668701171875"></th><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Feature</strong></td><td><strong>Guest</strong></td><td><strong>Free account</strong></td></tr><tr><td>AI summary</td><td>Yes</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Sentiment scores</td><td>Yes</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Top strengths &#x26; weaknesses</td><td>Yes</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Review status tracking</td><td>Yes</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Review list (view, filter, sort)</td><td>Yes</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Full feature requests &#x26; action items</td><td>Partly</td><td>Yes (full)</td></tr><tr><td>30-day trend arrows</td><td>No</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Export reviews to Excel</td><td>No</td><td>Yes</td></tr><tr><td>Negative review alerts by email</td><td>No</td><td>Yes</td></tr></tbody></table>

Creating an account is free and takes a moment.

### 3. Step-by-step

#### Step 1: Search for an app

1. Open the **AI Review Insights** page.
2. Click **Analyze Reviews Now**.
3. Type the app name in the search box.
4. A dropdown suggests matching apps, each with its icon, rating, and review count.
5. Click the app you want.

You will see **"App not found"**. You can submit the app name and your email, and we will notify you when it is ready.

<figure><img src="/files/9eRXQX86vNEJEePE2cMZ" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Run the analysis

1. Click **Analyze Reviews**.
2. If the app was analyzed recently, results appear instantly.
3. Otherwise, you will see **"AI is analyzing X reviews..."** for a short moment.

You are then taken to the results page.

#### Step 3: Read the sidebar (left side)

The sidebar shows quick facts about the app:

* **App info:** icon, name, developer, rating, and total review count.
* **Sentiment scores:** five bars from 0 to 10: Support, Ease of Use, Performance, Reliability, and Pricing. Green means strong (7+), amber is average (5–6.9), red is weak (under 5).
* **Change alert:** a banner inviting you to get notified about review changes. If reviews are spiking right now, a red strip shows the topic and how much it has risen.

With a free account, each sentiment score also shows a small arrow (up, down, or flat) comparing it to 30 days ago.

<figure><img src="/files/U5hMC0oEmizRfvvXRHto" alt="" width="414"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 4: Read the AI summary

At the top of the main area, the AI gives a short 3–5 sentence overview: the general feeling of users, the biggest strengths, and the common problems. This is the fastest way to understand the app.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/9GDzHdLXrYe8ktmViEhD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 5: Review strengths and weaknesses

Two side-by-side panels:

* **Strengths** (green, left): the top 5 things users praise.
* **Weaknesses** (red, right): the top 5 things users complain about.

Each item shows a theme, how many reviews mention it, and a sample quote. Weaknesses also carry a **severity badge** (High / Medium / Low). A **Spike** badge appears if a problem is rising quickly.

<figure><img src="/files/x7FJoeuMpF5EtcLOeRNm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 6: See feature requests and action items

* **Feature Requests** (left): the features users ask for most, ordered by demand. Frequently requested ones are tagged.
* **Action Items** (right): clear suggestions on what to fix or build next, based on the weaknesses and requests.

As a guest, you see the top few items; the rest are blurred. Sign up free to see the full lists.

<figure><img src="/files/MW7j4kPmuVd8Vmu2tEg0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 7: Check review status tracking

This section shows how the app's reviews change over time. It is open to everyone:

* **Four cards:** Total, Active, Archived, and Deleted reviews.
* **Status distribution:** the share of active, archived, and deleted reviews.
* **Weekly activity:** an 8-week chart. Unusual weeks are highlighted.
* **Status transitions:** how reviews moved between states (for example, active → deleted).
* **Rating × status table:** which star ratings are most often deleted.

Use the tabs **(30 Days / 90 Days / All Time)** to change the time range. With a free account, you also see the **"+N this week"** changes.

<figure><img src="/files/C9lyiiMk0UFLfelid9Ef" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 8: Browse the review list

A full list of reviews, with rating, text, reviewer, country, and date. You can:

* **Filter** by rating, status, or date.
* **Sort** by most recent or by rating.
* See **auto-tags** on each review (for example, support praise, bug report, pricing concern).&#x20;
* **Export to Excel** - available with a free account.

Reviews are shown 10 per page.

<figure><img src="/files/bYTrLlwjSOtdvgIxnBB4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 9: Turn on negative review alerts

This is the easiest way to stay ahead of problems. It needs a free account.

1. Click **Get Notified** in the sidebar.
2. If you are signed in, confirm in the small window. Alerts turn on for this app.
3. If you are a guest, you will be asked to create a free account first. Alerts then turn on automatically for the app you were viewing.

After that, the system checks the app every day. If negative reviews spike, you get an email alert with the topic, severity, and a link to the details. You can turn alerts off any time.

#### Step 10: Analyze another app

* Use the **search bar at the top** of the results page to analyze a new app without going back.
* Click **"Track this app on Letsmetrix"** to follow the app over time in your Letsmetrix dashboard.

### 4. Understanding the scores and labels

**Sentiment scores (0–10):** how users feel about Support, Ease of Use, Performance, Reliability, and Pricing. Higher is better. A dash (—) means there were not enough reviews to score that area.

**Severity badge** (on weaknesses): how widespread a problem is. High means many reviews mention it; Low means only a few.

**Spike**: when a topic is mentioned far more this week than last week (a sharp jump). It signals a sudden problem worth attention.

**Review status:** *Active* reviews are public, *Archived* are hidden, *Deleted* are removed. A high number of deleted negative reviews can be a warning sign.

### 5. What a free account unlocks

Creating a free account adds:

* The full feature request and action item lists.&#x20;
* 30-day trend arrows on scores and themes.&#x20;
* Excel export of reviews.
* Email alerts when negative reviews spike.

### 6. Quick FAQ

**Do I need to pay?**

No. The tool is free, including the account.

**Can I analyze a competitor's app?**

Yes. Search any Shopify app by name.

**Why are some items blurred?**

A few lists are reserved for account holders. Sign up free to see everything.

**How fresh are the results?**

Results are cached for a short time, so a popular app may load instantly. New analyses are generated on the spot.

**How do I stop email alerts?**

Open the app you are tracking and turn the alert off, or manage it from your Letsmetrix account.

# How to use the Compare Apps feature

The Compare Apps feature is designed to help Merchants and Developers quickly compare Shopify apps side by side to make smarter decisions.

You can start a comparison and add apps in three simple ways:

### 1. Starting a new comparison from the Landing Page
